Push Back With Optimal Spirituality!

Now’s the time to get real!

How can we grow and improve, if we are constantly bombarded by everyone trying to pull us down?

The media is telling us everything wrong with the world. Social media is telling us what we are missing out on.

Everyone’s husbands are doing the dishes, why can’t yours do that?

Look at where everyone is going on vacation and look where you aren’t going.

Our relatives are telling us what we are doing wrong.

TV tells us what we need to truly be ‘‘happy’’ HINT: It’s everything you don’t have, that they want to sell you, or that the only way you can be happy is by sleeping with people.

What about our own people? We aren’t nice either, other moms are mom shaming.

Your child isn’t in the honors program? Oh poor you, or you work, don’t you want to put your kids first? What kind of mom are you?

3 billion people in starving poverty, the water wars, religious fanatics, corrupt governments, women’s rights violations, slavery, wars, child rape, etc etc

It’s the people that are not depressed that worry me.

From doctors, to psychiatrists, to therapists, to the general population, to the depressed individuals themselves… the universal belief appears to be that “the person needs to get help”.

The list goes on and on…bombarded with how we should all be depressed and sad… that only material goods will make us happy!

But the opposite it true…

Spirituality is one piece of the puzzle that we can use to improve our health and well-being. – Tweet this

Spirituality offers methods for managing emotions internally and regulating the experience and expression of those emotions.

Spirituality offers differing and complementary avenues toward health, which can be achieved through structured behavior and emotional regulation.

With a committed spiritual practice you are more likely to achieve both healthy outward behavior and healthy inward experience.

Studies have indicated a positive relationship between spirituality and health.

When a person practices daily meditation and positivity, it not only intensifies calmness but also cultivates optimal physical health.

When the spiritual energy begins to flow:

  • Blood circulation improves
  • Blood pressure goes down
  • Cortisol and stress levels go down
  • Digestion improves
  • The body detoxes
  • Unhealthy genes are switched off
  • The overall immune system is enhanced

Gratitude is an emotion expressing appreciation for what one has—a universal concept in nearly all of the world’s spiritual traditions.

Giving thanks to a supernatural power, benefactors, or others is one of the most effective ways to get in touch with your soul.

Meditation changes the brain, literally—the whole brain.

Studies have proven that meditation can:

  • Change the entire brain by altering gray matter volume
  • Preserve the aging brain
  • Increase neuronal activity in emotional areas, frontal areas, and areas related to emotion regulation, self-control, and positive emotions

The benefits of meditation are numerous.

If you’re interested in starting a meditation habit, but not sure where or how to begin because something so straightforward somehow feels so overwhelming, here are 3 easy steps to help you build your own healthy meditation habit.

  1. Start Small with tiny achievable milestones as goals. Consistently reaching these milestones will help solidify your new habit! Increase both the time invested and the number of days a week you meditate – working your way up to a daily meditation habit.
  2. Make a Plan – schedule it into your day.
  3. Begin with Guided Meditation which covers the roadblocks of “I don’t know HOW to meditate” or “…am I doing it wrong?’ both common obstacles preventing people from beginning a meditation at all.

Keep a meditation journal. You are taking care of you.

We all need to bring a little bit more gratitude, meditation and other spiritual practices into our lives because let’s face it, we need to connect with our soul that everyone else is trying to rip it out or sell it to the devil…of course not me…lol.
