The 5 R’s of Healing the Gut!

Now that we talked about the importance of healing our gut, let’s get to the endless confusion of what to do and what not to do and/or eat. There are so many gut-healing diets, it can get confusing as to which one is right for you.

Again, my approach is focused on what is the easiest, most cost- and time-effective way to heal. Everyone is different. Start with the key basics and then adjusting as you need to. What all the gut-healing plans have in common is the importance of changing your diet.

To heal your digestive system, putting out the fire in the gut is the critical first step.Tweet this!

You will need to first stop putting gasoline on the fire by avoiding all the foods that are likely to be causing problems,

I have my patients remove all grains, dairy, sugar, processed foods and GMOs, even removing any chronic infections you may have.

You’ll then take steps to restore a healthy balance of bacteria, replenish nutrients by eating vegetables, clean protein and healthy fats, and making sure you are properly hydrated. Pre-populate with prebiotics and probiotics, repair the lining of the gut with bone broth, and other gut healing supplements like vitamin D and fish oil, and generally rebalance your system with gratitude, keeping people around you that love you and lift you up, keeping sleep a priority, incorporating a daily stress management technique and detoxification.
