This Isn’t 50 shades of Headscarf!

We have all been there.

Especially from a long hard day at work…exhausted. We just need to let off some steam, so we take off our shoes, and get on the bed with a juicy, mouth-watering burger and French fries, ready to make all our dreams come true…seriously, did you think I was really going to go where your mind wanted me to go…this isn’t 50 shades of headscarf…

Food!!! Look at all this delicious food!!! Foods… come on in my belly! That reminds me of a funny and corny joke my 5 year old told me…lol, ready to hear it?

Why did the man eat the bank? He wanted to eat rich food!!! As funny as that maybe, there is some reality to that….food can either help us or hurt us…so you have to focus on rich food to make us richer. But everyone is different. Some things that work for some don’t work for others.

Inflammation is the driver of chronic disease.Tweet this!

So with that in mind, it makes sense to eat more of the foods that decrease inflammation, eliminating/limiting the foods that increase it, whether you have a diagnosed illness or want to prevent one: it makes sense right? How simple.

I recommend adopting an anti-inflammatory approach to eating. This is not a meal plan but a way of living.

This anti-inflammatory diet/lifestyle enhances your metabolism to help your body function optimally—eating a plant-based, antioxidant-rich diet and minimizing toxic exposures could lower inflammation.

No more counting calories.Tweet this!

Don’t pull out the ice cream- because you need to choose the right foods in the right balance…yay!!!

Healing foods communicate with your genes.

Whenever you put a bite in your mouth, it also:

  • Keeps your gut happy,
  • Provides dense nutrients that provide your body with the strength it needs to heal inside and out.

Nutrient density creates resilience and regulates glucose, decreases insulin resistance, and balances hormones. Anything that causes insulin resistance will also cause inflammation, and vice versa. Insulin resistance leads to rapid and premature aging, and causes stroke, dementia, heart disease, cancer, hormonal imbalances, and so much more.

What is insulin resistance….well, I’ll tell you next time.

In the meantime let’s focus on the foods that heal the gut, are nutrient dense and balance your insulin.

Good healthy food is the biggest investment you can make for you and your family, for now and the future.

I promise you: Your future self will thank you.
